Three Vella Works with a Maltese Theme to be Performed during “GauLive”

In compliance with the latest health and safety regulations issued by the health authorities, the 14th edition of “Gaulitana: A Festival of Music” is being brought to an end with a series of six live public events in Gozo.

“GauLive” will take place between the 10th September and the 9th October 2021, and includes three Maestro Joseph Vella works having a Maltese theme. They will be performed in the first event on the 10th September, to be held at the Ministry of Gozo premises in Victoria.

‘Rapsodija Maltija’ (Op 26) – composed in 1978 – is for violin and piano, whilst ‘Waħdi’ (op.13) is one of the composer`s earlier works, composed in 1970 for soprano and piano to words by J.J. Camilleri. ‘Taħnina’ (Op 106) on the other hand is a three minute traditional Maltese lullaby for soprano, piano and optional cello, dedicated to th

e composer`s grandchildren Cristina and Andrea.
