Malta Mon Amour

This is the title of a concert of Maltese works which was played in the Sala Puccini at the Conservatorio di Milano on Saturday 1 September. The occasion, organized by young composer/conductor Andre Paul Huber, featured three works  by Andre Paul himself (Soliloquy for Clarinet, Double Bass and Piano, In de Profundis Animae  for Double Bass and Piano, and  Ghanja tal-Milied for Baritone , Violin and Piano). In de Profundis Animae was being premiered during the evening.  My works on the programme included Segments No 3 for Clarinet and Piano, Rapsodija Maltija for Violin and Piano, and L-Ghanja tal-Hajja for Baritone, Clarinet and Piano.

Musicians taking part were Joseph Huber (baritone), Marcelline Agius (violin), Gjorgji Cincievskji (double bass), Gabi Sultana (piano) and Italian Clarinettist Ilenia Torsello.

The sizeable members of the audience were well captivated listening to this music from Malta, and the performers received very hearty rounds of applause. Notice and review of the concert even appeared in the Corriere della Sera
