The music of Joseph Vella lives on!

A special word of thanks to the Arts Council -Malta for featuring a video clip as a tribute to Joseph Vella during the very first edition of the Malta Arts Awards, held on Friday 23rd March 2018. As appropriately specified in the clip, Mro. Vella`s valuable contributions in the musical sector will undoubtedly remain alive.

On at least two other occasions, works of his were also performed during local concerts last week. As part of the International Spring Orchestra Festival, up and coming pianist Francis Camilleri performed Rapsodija Maltija (Opus 26) on April 10th, for piano solo. This work is also available for violin and piano, violin and full orchestra, and violin and string orchestra.

On April 13th, the Cultural Council within the Ministry for Gozo in collaboration with the Munxar Local Council organised a cultural evening at the Munxar Parish Church in remembrance of Professor Guzé Aqulina. Maestro Vella was also vividly remembered within this event through the performance of his 3 Preghiere (Opus 89).
