My annual appointment as composer-in-residence of the MPO, this year fell on the 23rd of March.  In a concert held at the Manoel Theatre, which I also conducted, I presented the world premier of my Concerto for Piccolo, Strings and Timpani.  The interpreter was Italian virtuoso Nicola Mazzanti, the lead player of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra.  Other works in the programme were by Hindemith, Arnold and McDonald.
