In two weeks’ time, two major Vella oratorios will be performed during the Three Palaces Early Opera & Music Festival: ‘Rewwixta’ on the 4th November at the St Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina whilst ‘Il-Belt Rebbieha’ will be the Festival`s closing event, performed on the 12th November 2022 at St. Lawrence Parish Church, Birgu.

Family Vella is very grateful to Festivals Malta for their constant support in ensuring that such works are performed, after lying dormant for 30 years.

Such a collaboration however extends beyond, since following Festivals Malta generous assistance, both works – each circa one hour long – have now been fully engraved and digitised, and can thus be more easily preserved and enjoyed by future generations.

This is in line with one of Family Vella`s main objectives, that is the digitisation of the entire list of classified works composed by Maestro Joseph Vella. Other digitisation projects are also in the pipeline.
