3rd International Competition – ‘Premio Mozart’

The 3rd International Competition – Premio Mozart- was held in Quinto Vicentino, Provincia di Vicenza from the 2nd to the 5th of May. Instrumental categories for the competition included piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, guitar and chamber music. For all of these categories I was asked by the organizers to compose pieces specifically for the competition. The competitors were judged by an international jury, namely Luba Benedictovitch (flutist from Russia), Torge Braemar (guitarist from Germany), Marianne Wade (violinist from the UK), Nuria Trina (pianist from Spain),  and myself.  Elisa Scudeller, who was awarded the Primo Premio Assoluto in her category by scoring 100/100 points, amongst her repertoire played my Epigrammi op 71 (no 2). The overall winner of the competition was 13- year- old Teofil Milenkovitch, who impeccably played from memory the whole of the 1st movement of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto
